About Big Boaby Gaming

Big Boaby Gaming is an irreverent gaming blog, first setup in late 2021 as a cynical means with which to give me WordPress hosting experience while I was between jobs. It was also meant to help me gain some valuable writing experience. Sadly anyone who has read an article can see that plan hasn’t exactly worked out. Since starting this blog, I’ve been able to actually start earning a modest income via WordPress development. This means I can use this blog for it’s intended purpose. Namely celebrating and/or condemning all of the games I’ve wasted wisely spent my time on.

About me

If you’re curious about me, your humble scribe, then you’re probably mad. Yet I’ll try to answer some basic questions, for your comfort and delight. As of the time of writing I’m 28 years old. I’m Scottish and have lived in Scotland, Canada, New Zealand, Texas and Portugal. I’ve been playing games since I was 4, and have finished around 650 since then. For a full list, you can find my backloggery account here. Personally I consider RTS, TBS and FPS games to be the most interesting genres. While having little time or patience for JRPGs, VNs and whatever the latest multiplayer flavour of the month nonsense is.

The Deep Big Boaby Gaming Lore

As of January 2024, I’ve been able to get this blog it’s own website instead of relying on the charity of WordPress. On the one hand this means that I can use plugins and have Big Boaby Gaming look quasi-official. On the other, it means that this charming website costs real money. An exceedingly small amount to be fair, but still it costs around 50p per week. As such if you are feeling extremely generous feel free to donate here.

For Search Engine Optimisation purposes, I’ve been told to add a picture. Here’s a (royalty free) penguin.
